India is an agricultural country and the economy of India depends on agricultural production. Almost 70 percent of the population earns their living from agriculture. Farmers could not sell the agricultural produce grown by the farmers as they wished. Agricultural produce was being sold secretly by market intermediaries, brokers, and big traders in the market through Hatta method (Sale Under Cover). Agricultural produce was being weighed through the names of traders.
