As per the government decision, in order to curb rising inflation, farmers' agricultural produce should get a fair market price and the consumers should get 100 percent benefit from the farmers and the agricultural produce should be available at a fair market price, the market committee has made arrangements for the sale of agricultural produce directly from farmers to consumers without intermediaries. A group of 170 farmers from Kalwadi in Junnar taluka has started selling their agricultural produce directly at the Fruits and Vegetables Department, Gultekdi, Market Yard from 13/9/2009. It is getting a huge response from the general consumers. On an average, 1 million tons of agricultural produce is sold from this sales center every day.
